"I try not to limit myself to only one form of art. For my soul knows not the limits set by others. If my mind has
the ability to imagine it, Then my hands have the power to bring it to life."

A Bit About My Uncle : Robert Lang
Meet my Uncle "Rob”, He’s a vintage do it yourselfer, I feel in love with his woodworking back in the late 70's & early 80’s. While visiting with my Grandparents I often tagged along to craftsmen shows & festivals with my uncle Rob.His inlay work was amazing , smooth rounded modern look with an earthy style to his designs. He is the author of several “Shop Drawings " books about furniture and interiors of the Arts & Crafts Movement of the early 1900s.
He has been a professional woodworker, cabinetmaker and designer since the early 1970’s.His experience includes furniture and cabinet making, and project management and engineering in the field of architectural millwork. His interest in Craftsman furniture goes back to the early days of my career, and he is grateful for the opportunity to pass on some of what he have learned.
About His Job
Senior Editor of Popular Woodworking Magazine , Rober W. Lang grew up in northeastern Ohio and has been a professional woodworker since the early 1970s. He learned woodworking repairing wooden boats on Lake Erie and in a large commercial shop in Cleveland. Along the way he studied industrial design at The Ohio State University, and his experience includes building custom furniture and cabinets as well as managing and engineering large architectural millwork projects. He is the author of several "Shop Drawings" books about furniture and interiors of the Arts & Crafts Movement of the early 1900s.
Visit The Craftsman Plans Website
These plans are prepared in the same way as plans are prepared in the furniture industry. Each set of drawings is rendered in AutoCAD, and printed on 24" x 36", 20lb. bond paper. A bill of materials, and large scale detail and section views are included, along with overall front, side, and top views. Most of the plans include 3-dimensional assembly, or exploded views, to aid in visualization of the completed piece. All of the information needed to build Authentic reproductions of these pieces is included.
He is the reason I fell in love with woodworking and has inspried me to play with some wood myself , as seen in the slide show below.
